Downtown San Jose

The San Jose Downtown Association is a non-profit organization focused on enhancing the vibrancy of downtown San Jose through public space activations, (virtual) events, holiday celebrations, small business promotions and more.

Small Business Support Video Marketing Campaign

This video marketing campaign drove small business recovery and support during COVID-19. I spearheaded and owned the project from start to end, including outreach to small businesses for involvement in video, video editing, promotion on all social platforms, and more.

This Downtown San Jose Open video is meant to drive community support for small businesses during COVID-19. The video features a variety of businesses (food, performing arts, gyms, museums, etc.) impacted by COVID-19. I did outreach to ask downtown businesses to be a part of this project by submitting their own video (following my guidelines) and edited the video.

Short + sweet version! (2 minutes)

Full version (10 minutes) featuring small business owners and managers speaking about how COVID-19 has impacted them and their business.

Marketing Campaigns

Social media graphics for the San Jose Downtown Association’s social media campaign during COVID-19 to provide support to the downtown community.

The graphic eventually developed into a teal heart as part of the Downtown San Jose recovery campaign. This teal heart was used on all promotional materials (billboards, social media, web). Campaign included the messages “Yes, we’re open!” and “We miss you” to encourage small business support (through online orders, food delivery, takeout, etc.) and to support to the downtown community. Campaign was done in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese to reach a broader demographic in San Jose’s urban community.
